"Kilmeny" (named after the heroine of a Celtic folk tale) is an outstanding Moody 346, offered ready to sail at a competitive price for a quick sale. She has had one careful British diplomatic owner/skipper (and his wife/Admiral) from new, and has been based in Oman, Denmark, Scotland and Morocco. For the last 20 years she has been berthed and professionally maintained at the small, prestigious Portomaso Marina in Malta, where her berth is paid for until September 30, 2024.
Her owners have found "Kilmeny" an ideal cruising yacht for 40 years, extremely easy to sail and with comfortable accommodation for 6. The centre cockpit provides a stable steering position in a seaway, and gives excellent views fore and aft, a great advantage when handling the boat ahead or astern in confined spaces like the marina. Her bilge keels make it easy to take the ground when desired. She has given the owner and his family (wife, 4 children and 8 grandchildren) enormous pleasure sailing in different parts of the world, with passages from Copenhagen to Lossiemouth, Lossiemouth to Tangier and Tangier to Malta - most recently in the waters around Malta and Sicily. They are surprised to find that they are now becoming older and less mobile, and have decided that it is now time to part reluctantly with their much-loved boat and pass this reliable source of pleasure to another lucky owner.
